About The Art

I believe that everyone has an animal within them. I also believe that the animals have a lot of us in them as well. We are all connected. I strive to show this inherit connection between man and animal in my art in a way that hopefully helps the viewer to connect to their own animal nature.

The blend of human and animal is called "Anthropomporphism", which is a broad term that means something that is non-human having human-like traits. Anything can be anthropomorphized, but in this case when I refer to my subjects as "Anthros", I am talking about humanized animals...or animalized humans.

Sometimes my subjects are shapeshifters, either in a shamanic sense or a fantasy/horror sense. Sometimes they are simply anthros and exist as they are, unchanging. Sometimes my intent is to show that mystical connection between human and animal, and sometimes it is just for fun, to explore the possibilities of a fantasy race, or to blend a human culture with its native animals. Other times I wish to explore that darkness within myself and human nature with my werewolves, the untamed, savage wild that still exists deep within our own souls.

I create my art for many reasons, but mainly it is to express the wild within my own soul, the animal that lives within my own heart, and thus the reason why most of my subjects are wolves. I identify closely with wolves, idolizing their society, their freedom, their strength, and their untamed wildness. I suppose on some level I long to be as wild and free, as beautiful and strong, and all of that comes out in my artwork.
