Feminine Divine

This piece is my interpretation of the divine feminine energy within the Universe and present in everyone and everything.

Divine feminine energy is passive, internal, emotional, intuitive, gentle and nurturing. It is the inward expression, the deep watery undercurrents of the soul and subconscious. This is the Yin energy, the Anima of the psyche.

This is a channeled piece in that I didn't really know beforehand what I was doing per ce, and allowed the images, symbols, colors, etc to just simply come to me according to what energy I was trying to work with, in this case the essence of the sacred feminine.

I generally leave the interpretation of a piece up to you, the viewer, but since there is so much symbolism here I will give my own brief description of what I feel the meanings are behind the symbols.

The moon is a symbol associated with cycles, mystery, tides and currents, serenity, luminocity (not being a caster of light but a reflection), maternal forces, pregnancy, menstration, and goddess energy. The moon is an obvious female symbol.

The snowy owl is a symbol of a woman's wisdom, particularly that of the wise/medicine woman or crone. It is a creature of the moon and night time, able to see where others cannot and therefore is considered a symbol of psychic and intuitive energy (i.e. "women's intuition")

The night is a time for dreaming and being within the mystery and is a symbol of the subconscious mind.

The butterflies and moths are a symbol of the softer, delicate side of women, the innocence of being a girl, and the transformation into womanhood.

The woman herself is luminous like the moon behind her, her eyes filled with mystery and women's knowing. Her crown and bindi (decoration on the third eye) represent that connection to the divine. She wears blue, a color of water, deep emotion and the color of the Earth herself, which is female. She is also silver, which is a metal associated with the moon and with psychic forces.

The silver cup represents the womb and holds water, which is a female element that represents emotion, the subconscious, intuition, female fertility, transformation, purification, and healing.

The lotus flower is a symbol of female reproductive organs, fertility, beauty, purity, and connection to the divine.

The wolf, and especially the she wolf or alpha female is a potent symbol of female instinct or intuition and sexuality (the passions of the wolf if you will). Wolves are creatures full of secrets and mystery and are powerful symbols of the subconscious mind and ambassadors of Spirit, leading us into deeper communion with the greater unknown. Wolf packs are ruled by the alpha female who dictates who the alpha male will be and who decides where the pack will locate its den, so she is a great symbol of female power on the whole.

The wolf's necklace is a common symbol for the three phases of feminine energy, the maiden, mother, and crone represented as the moon's phases.

Galaxies and the Universe within the woman's cloak is the birthing place of all, the very wombs of creation itself and there is no more potent symbol for the inner being and subconscious.

I am sure this piece will have its own things to say to you and you are free to interpret it as you wish. These are just my own thoughts on what came through me onto the board here. Art speaks to everyone individually! And yes, there will be a masculine counterpart to this. I consider this painting incomplete until "Masculine Divine" is finished as well.
